It has been a long standing issue in the diamond mining industry that tracing the origins of naturally mined diamonds can be very difficult. This means that a percentage of mined diamonds in circulation still come from war-torn countries, where they are often sold to fund civil war.
In 2003 the Kimberly process was established with the aim of reducing the flow of conflict diamonds. Although the Kimberly process has helped this issue, there are significant flaws in the system. The Kimberly process does not take into account the fact that even diamonds that are not mined from a region of conflict can still be a product of unethical behaviours including: child labour, human rights violation and dangerous working conditions.
Lab grown diamonds are created in a controlled laboratory environment which makes them easily traceable. The fact that no mining is required means that ethical issues are eliminated when using lab grown diamonds.
The vast majority of pure carats diamonds are Type IIA quality. Type IIA diamonds are the purest form of diamond with no nitrogen or boron impurities and only occur in 2% of natural mined diamonds. This means that our lab grown diamonds are more clean and beautiful than their mined alternative.
Our lab grown diamonds are more affordable than mined diamonds, this means you can purchase a much larger and better quality lab grown diamond for the same budget. For the same price as a 1ct natural diamond, you can buy a 1.5-2ct lab grown.
